Dandie
Dinmont Club
of Canada
The
Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club of Canada was founded to promote this unique
and charming breed. In 1969 the Club started with the seven founders and
has developed to approximate one hundred members at present.
The first
Show took place in Ottawa in 1970, and a Specialty Show is held every
second year.
The DDTCC
takes every chance to make these friendly dogs more public. For a period
of almost ten years Dandies decorated the packages of President's Choice
Green Gourmet All-Natural Dog Biscuits; the president of Hallmark Canada
published their picture in a "Signature"-series of Hallmark
cards.
At the annual
Highlands of Durham Games in Uxbridge, Ontario, taking place on the last
weekend in July, all visitors are invited to attend the "Dandie Parlour"
as a part of a show of all Scottish breeds. There is an annual "Fun
Day" Picnic in the North of Toronto held by the Club with more than
thirty Dandies taking part in various competitions. This is quite a good
chance to see Dandies of classes and ages.
Annual fee
is $25 for single memberships and $30 for families.
