DANDIEONLINE | REDACTION | GERMAN DANDIES'

PCDandieOnline is presenting the Dandie Dinmont Terrier in the Internet, comprehensive and in encyclopaedic style.

In the mid of the 17th century the Pepper and Mustard Dog had been bred in the Scottish Borders, a dog that later on was to be known as the Dandie Dinmont Terrier. To this fact a lot had been contributed by Sir Walter Scott through his novel "Guy Mannering". However, the Dandie Dinmont Terrier has remained to be a rare breed.

Manfred Rosenbaum , webmaster of DandieOnline, has been engaged with Dandie Dinmont Terriers since 1983, as a keeper, as a breeder, and as an exhibitor. His first experiences with the press media he made from 1995 to 1999 by publishing the "European Dandie Journal" (EDJ). As publisher and editor in charge he had been responsible for the design and the layout, too. The magazine developed from simple beginnings to a special magazine having subscribers from a total of sixteen countries of Europe and America.

The "European Dandie Journal" had completely been managed by honorary individuals. Unfortunately and with times going by, the co-operation became worse as did the financial basis. And when certain influences from outside came up this project had to be abandoned early in 1999, unfortunately.

Already in October 1998 an Internet presence had been installed with the intention to create an additional platform of information for the EDJ. After the abandonment of the "European Dandie Journal" the Internet presence DandieOnline took charge of the successful job of the EDJ on its own and continued that work with the help of a newly formed team.

With the many years, Manfred Rosenbaum has collected an immeasurable fund of information, stories, collectables, pictures, and graphics out of the history of the Dandie Dinmont Terrier of more than 150 years. In that way, DandieOnline became one of the greatest and most significant - and probably most successful - sites on dogs in the world wide web.
