Positive:
° Very good starting page (with a nice picture) with concise short
information, however, precisely describing what you may expect.
° Bilingual: The English translation is excellent. Bravo!!
° General, equally performed, rather simple and clearly arranged
design. The pages are quite accurately programmed. Perfect combination
of amusement and presentation of information.
° Navigation is elegant and quite good and always to be found on
the same place on each page.
° A fine and clearly structured sitemap.
° Texts are sufficiently detailed so everyone can read them with
comfort.
° All is combined very well in colours as well as in graphics, harmonic,
comfortable for the eyes, all is designed homogeneously.
° Despite the chosen "flat" colour scheme of blue-and-white
the site in no way appears to be "cold" or heartless.
° Very nice graphics and well chosen pictures. A great lot of beautiful
details (such as the little blue triangles which reappear on every page
together with corresponding graphical adaptations or those tiny dividing
lines with the little head of a dog).
° Despite the tremendous lot of awards won the perspicuity is always
preserved. The fonts of the various names seem to be a little too small.
° Quite a good perspicuity with all screen resolutions (tested from
800x600 to 1280x1024).
° Compatibility to Internet Explorer and Netscape (even with the
former versions as IE 4.0 and NS 4.07).
Negative:
· Dead link, if you want to go to older news.
Remark:
· Mentioning of copyrights and origin of the used pictures and
texts is not always done. But that might not be demanded in detail considering
that amount of information, reports and pictures.

Content
Positive:
° All contributions are well done in formulation without any faults
in grammar or writing.
° In the topic "We On Us" the people in charge are very
well described; the "Preface" is written quite appealing and
informing.
° Very well presented and for interested ones surely a high-light
are the "News" from all over the world concerning this breed
(Results of competitions, Specialties, etc.).
° It is quite the same with the column "Press".
° "Opinions & Facts" reveals that one Dandie may not
be as like as another Dandie: Some do have the "Dandie roll",
others don't. What all a breeder has to observe! ;-) At the same time
you are informed that the predecessor of this Internet site was a magazine
that the people were forced to cease publishing. I am of the opinion
that this information should readable in a spot a bit more accessible
as this is quite important to know.
° A great lot of interesting material presents the column "Breed".
The history of these dogs is very thrilling and describes in form not
too long the origin and usage of this breed - from Pepper Terrier to
the Dandie Dinmont.
° Witty and neatly collected is the column "Collectables".
What this name has already been used for ....
° Well done is the page on literatures. It is a pity that most of
the books are only achievable second-hand. Are there no up-to-date editions
and publications in the book-shops?
° The "Standards" of a Dandie are notable. The breeders
seem to have quite a precise idea of how a "perfect" Dog should
look like.
° Very much and certainly valuable and usable information referring
to "Breed" (As a real layman I cannot judge on it).
° The reports on shows and competitions, too, seem to be top - at
least they are quite up-to-date (August is already shown).
° The column "Entertainment" presents some articles for
grinning (e.g. Queeny - the car-hunter) and shows a very fine gallery
of photos and pictures.

Category Innovation
° Surely you will have to consider as an innovation the combination
of an enormous amount of good information and an excellent design. You
will seldom get this presented on a private site. The innovation for
a Dandie site seems to be rather great.
° On the other hand the structure and presentation is quite conventional.

Category Loading Times
° The loading times are good. Economical, with accurately used graphics
in good sizes, a good layout of the pages and the renunciation of unnecessary
floridities - that really would be misplaced in an information site
of this kind - make DandieOnline a fun to surf around.

Personal Annotation
° The only thing that does not please me is the award column with
this enormous amount of awards. On the one hand this testifies the high
quality of this site (e.g. nearly all Top Awards of the German speaking
countries are represented), on the other hand the feeling is creeping
in it could be a matter of "award hunting". Less would be
more in this case: As an awardmaster looking at that amount could get
considering why he should add a further one.

Annotation of DandieOnline
The
last remarks made me reflective - however, I do think DandieOnline has
"grown" with each of the awards received. And there are not
few awardmasters from whom I did get valuable tips for the development
of DandieOnline
Our
awards by their way of being presented will give proof of the growth
of DandieOnline on the one hand - and on the other one of the references
DandieOnline is rendering the exceptional ones among the élite
awards.
As a consequence of the above remarks, in a next larger update I will
adapt the design of the award pages to the grown level and the also
risen pretension of DandieOnline.
