It
was in November 1999 that our family council decided to have a dog with
us. But, what kind of a dog? He should not be too big and not too small
and above all fond of children.
After a long time of racking our brains about that the decision fell:
a Beagle! My brother gave me an address of a breeder nearby where we
might put some questions. Mrs Haupt presented us her lovely Teckels.
Well, - but Teckels were too small for us! Then Mr Köhler, the
partner of Mrs Haupt, asked: "What about Dandies?" He showed
us his dogs and told of the "children of divorce" Donna Dora
and Cleopatra.

Within short Donna was sitting on my lap. Lovely! What a glance, what
a face - and all that appertaining. Mr Köhler gave us something
to read about that breed, up to then unknown to us. We read the booklet
that very evening and the unanimous decision was: Yes, it has to be
a Dandie!
Since October 1999 Donna belongs to us and we had a phone call in October:
"And what is happening to Cleopatra?" - This question found
a quick solution, for both of the dogs had grown up together and on
the other hand a dog has not be to be alone in the house in case we
have to be out of the house.
Now,
one year has passed, and we have already experienced some shows and
are allowed to breed with both of the dogs. With the affix "v.
Mark Brandenburgischen Hof"
Cleopatra has had her first litter this October: three whelps.
We have not had a single second of regret for having taken these two
lovely and loyal family dogs.
Very
recommendable - these beautiful Dandie Dinmont Terriers.
