In Memory Of 2000

Death is grievous for those who have to witness a comrade departing from us, a comrade having accompanied us through our life for many years and whom we grew fond of.

However, death belongs to life and our Creator did not provide for a life without death.

Death may be a recall from an accomplished life or even a salvation from disease and long illness.

Considering this, we depart from our beloved dog in deep mourning, keeping in mind all the lovely memories that will remain in our hearts firm and forever.

Florina's
Humphrey
November 4th, 1983 - August 4th, 2000

...er fühlte sich wohlOn February 11th, 1989 Humphrey came to us and for 11 1/2 years he kept moving around our house and garden.

He was peace and quiet, rather an individualist. When taking him for a walk he enjoyed only few dogs meeting them. Humphrey loved the snow, even in his old age he used to keep moving in the winter snows just like a young dog would do.

...der Schnee war sein ElementHe was always pleased to be photographed. After a flashlight he approached wagging with his tail, and he appeared to be laughing. Humphrey had a little teddy of plush, in earlier days he often chased him to "shake him to death".

He loved noodles and cheese. In the times when his teeth had still been in order he loved to eat carrots and displayed little bits of them all over the house. In earlier times his great love was to drive with cars. If you would have said to him: "Humphrey, car driving!" he would have come immediately and could hardly await to take his place on the back seats.

...als verrutschtes RotkäppchenFire-works and the noise of the dustmen alarmed him when he was younger. One time when he was in the cellar on New Year's Eve to get away from the noises he even pushed the washing-machine away to hide behind it. Later on his fright lessened, maybe he got used to it, maybe he could not hear as well.

Humphrey was fond of digging in the garden - especially when flowers were to be planted. When his eyes became worse he always turned to the lights. Thus Humphrey went in the direction of the TV looking like he himself would watch TV.

Humphrey has lived for exactly 16 3/4 years. On August 4th he left us forever. Now he is buried in his basket in our garden together with his teddy. He will live in our hearts forever.

Our "Pölle"

It is already a fortnight's time
That we strongly miss you - Apollo.

Ended have our years in togetherness of time.
In other hands we give our "first born" - Apollo.

We believe in a heaven for dogs,
Where he can hear and eat and run for logs.
We will never forget you - Apollo.

Where can spring again,
Where he needs no tablets and has no pain.
We did love him with all our hearts - Apollo.

You deserve your rest - Apollo.

Florian gen. "Harvey" starb einen unnötigen Tod. Eine nicht erkannte Entzündung der Prostata führte zu einer Vergiftung der Nieren und in Folge zu einem irreparablen Nierenversagen. Sein Tod war letztlich eine Erlösung.
