A
small group of fanciers of the Airedale-Terrier founded the "Klub für
Terrier e.V." (KfT) in Munich in 1894. Today the KfT takes care of 29 different
breeds of Terriers. The Club promotes breeding and training and runs the Breed
Book, acknowledged by the VDH/FCI. The KfT nowadays has developed to a dog club
of more than 13,000 members.
The
Dandie Dinmont Terrier has a first mention in the Breed Book of the KfT in 1947.
From
2001 the Breed Guard for the Dandie Dinmont Terrier in the KfT is Mrs Helga
Birkicht. Her kennel has the suffix "vom Parkwald".
Membership
fee is € 40,00 a year, family members € 10,00 a year. Entry fee is €
15,00.
The
KfT act as self publishers of their informing magazine "DER TERRIER".
The subscription is included in the membership fee; the magazine is published
every month. There is a disposal of 1/3 of a page for the Dandie Dinmont Terrier
for information and other news.
